Wang Tao of global innovation research center of Ritsumeikan University visits ISTD

         Prof. Wang Tao, the research fellow of global innovation research center of Ritsumeikan University in Japan, visited ISTD and held a workshop with the title of “Building, infrastructure and metabolism---a case study of China” on 17 July 2015. The experts from Shandong University, Qingdao Science and Technology University and ISTD took part in this workshop and communicated with each other.
        Prof. Wang Tao, got PhD degree from Yale University, is the adjunct senior fellow of research platform for international cooperation on regional ecological and green development research (the Taishan Scholar Program of Shandong Province) in ISTD. His main research fields focuses on the circular economy, industry ecology and MFA(material flows analysis). Prof. Wang Tao shared his findings about metabolism of China from the case studies on iron manufacturing, high speed rail construction and supply and drainage equipment of cities and also discussed with each other about the topic of data collection and stocks of city buildings. It is very helpful to improve the international cooperation with the experts from Japan and accelerate the building of research platform (the Taishan Scholar Program of Shandong Province) to hold this workshop.
